Bonjour
je fais suivre ici la dernière lettre du président d’ERME avec plusieurs nouvelles et annonces.

—————-
Dear ERME Members,
I assume that some of you will already be enjoying your summer holidays, but since the holiday season takes place at different times in our countries, I send this mail now because it contains some important information, and I plan to repeat the information in a new mail later.
First of all, a reminder about CERME15 in Bratislava: The submission form for paper and poster proposals and the pre-registration form are now open. See https://www.cerme15.org/ The deadline for submissions is 15 September 2026. Note that to have your submission reviewed, you must pay the pre-registration fee of 50 Euros. This fee is not refundable but will be deducted from the full registration fee when registering for the congress. See details about this on https://www.cerme15.org/registration-and-fees/
In August this year, YESS14 will be held in Utrecht, https://www.uu.nl/en/research/yess14-august-2026. This means that it is time to think about YESS15 for the summer of 2028. On behalf of YERME, I invite you to consider the possibility of hosting a YERME Summer School in two years. A call for bids has recently been published on the ERME site, see https://erme.site/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/YESS15-CallForBids.pdf The deadline for submitting bids is set to 30 November 2026.
At CERME15, there will as usual be elected new members to the Board. The following Board members will leave at CERME15: Eirini Geraniou, Katalin Gosztonyi, Zelha Tunç-Pekkan, and Luca Lamanna. Eirini was elected as a non-regional representative, Katalin as a representative of Eastern Europe, Zelha as a representative of South Eastern Europe, and Luca as a Young Researcher representative.
This means that at CERME15 we will elect a new YR representative, a new non-regional representative and regional representatives from East Europe and South Eastern Europe. I encourage you to think about suitable candidates, and in particular to be conscious of the gender balance. Note that three of the four leaving Board members are female. The current Board members are listed here, https://erme.site/erme-board/
For details about the elections, see https://erme.site/organization/, part 3, Organisation and management. Please note that a candidate must be nominated by two ERME members, and the candidate must agree to the nomination.
You may remember that in my last mail in March, I asked for information about the origins of ERME. I want to express my sincere thanks to all of you who responded to this and provided very interesting and valuable information. I intend to write a brief history of ERME/CERME to publish on the ERME site.
I wish you all a nice summer!
Kind regards,
Frode
